Constructive feedback in a supportive, stretching environment with a brilliant tutor is the absolute core of the Faber Academy experience. This course offers just that. Four weekly peer presentations and regular one-to-ones. No readings, no writing exercises: just you and eleven fellow students getting down to business and finishing a draft of your novel, getting valuable feedback on your work every three weeks. And there is no one better placed to lead you than Gillian Slovo, a hugely experienced tutor and acclaimed writer of thirteen novels, a celebrated memoir and several plays.

If you're looking for honest answers to difficult questions – 'does this work?', 'am I on the right track?', 'what do you think I'm getting at here?' – then why not apply today to join Gillian and a group of dedicated fellow novelists for six months of hard, rewarding work?

Applying is easy. Simply click 'Apply Now' at the bottom of this screen, login to your account (or create a new one) and you'll be asked to upload up to three documents. As it happens, we only need two: a 2000-word excerpt from your manuscript, and a cover letter of no more than a page, detailing where you're coming from writing-wise, what it is you're writing about, where you've got to with your novel and what you're hoping to get out of the course. Make sure you get that done before midnight on the day listed below. Any questions, get in touch.
